FANTASTIC WORK! (and there's nothing wrong with a Nikon! Hell, I still use Fujis! It's the skill of the photographer, and not the camera that makes the difference!)
:iconunknownbug:
thanks ... but it would appear that some people believe otherwise ... but i deffinatly agree with you
:iconwarflight:
I was told by a photographer friend of mine once, that if I wanted to be good at photography, I needed to first find a bad camera (in my case, it was an old Generation 1 digi cam from Kodak) and discover my own techniques for making the photos as decent as possible... he suggested to take a year of taking photos, and discovering my own methods, before taking any classes to parrot another person's technique.

Since photography is just a hobby for me, and not a business, that's exactly what I do... I have my preferences... I get told all the time that Fuji is crap when I say that I have a Fuji, and it's usually by the same people who say they love my photography... I have several cameras, but my Fuji S7000 is my primary, because I like it best... and those same people telling me how bad Fuji is, don't seem to notice the photos they like were taken with the Fuji!

It's not to say that I think Fuji is the best camera... it's just my preference. There are better cameras, but, again, it is not the camera, but rather, the photographer.

Heh... I remember, back in the 80s, there was this camera... it was Soviet made, from the 60s or 70s, and these cameras all had poor optics... usually warped lenses... and in the 80s, all of a sudden, this whole hobby scene popped up involving these cameras, and the photos taken with them started selling for BIG money... the whole concept behind the fad was the thoughts of imperfection in the camera... and the strive by the photographer to overcome that imperfection with both skill, and subject matter.

But, I'm rambling on now, aren't I?
:iconunknownbug:
interesting story and you are completely right ... i have always used my nikon and it is what i prefer. the story of the soviet camera is great ... really shows photographer > camera. thanks for sharing that with me
:iconwarflight:
No worries!

One of these days I plan to take one of my extra filters, and make an attempt at warping it, so as to give that effect that those old Soviets cameras used to do... with the proper amount of heat, focused in the right place, it shouldn't be too hard... I figure I could use one of my laser burners with a heat bloom, and sinks on the glass itself... but I would have to figure a way for the cooling process so it doesn't shatter... maybe I should talk to a glass blower at a Renaissance Faire!
